11th Annual Criterium Bike Race

  • Spartanburg Convention & Visitors Bureau PO Box 1636 Spartanburg (map)

Make sure to mark your calendar for the fastest and flashiest night in Spartanburg: May 1, 2015!! The Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Criterium is a closed-circuit, multi-lap cycling race. It is a featured event in Spartanburg’s largest annual festival, Spring Fling. In addition, it will be included in the USA CRITS Speed Week series, which is guaranteed to draw top national racing teams and international racers.

The race has an officially sanctioned, half-mile course that is unique for its cobblestone start/finish line, open-air plaza center, and dangerously sharp right turns. It is one of many cycling activities held in May as part of National Bike Month.

The Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Criterium has continually grown and expanded its reach. Over the past four years PAL has added a new feature to attract additional spectators - tailgating spots along the course. The event is also an economic asset to the community by bringing $25,000 back into Spartanburg hospitality businesses.
